The AERO Lab studies the air we breathe — the health and cognitive impacts of air pollutants, building ventilation and filtration, and data-driven identification and control of indoor pollution sources.

Bowen Du, PhD
Assistant Professor, AERO Lab

National University of Singapore

Dr. Bowen Du holds a PhD in Civil Engineering (with a specialization in Psychology/Neuroscience) from the University of Toronto, gained postdoctoral experience at EPFL, Switzerland, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Tongji University, China. He is a member of the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ).

We are accepting PhD students for the January 2027 intake (apply by 1 August for international students and 1 September for domestic).

  • Motivations for pursuing a PhD at our lab
  • Education background
  • Research interests (2–3 sentences)
  • Two writing samples — published journal papers preferred but not required; for each, include a link and a brief summary (where applicable)
  • Anticipated starting time
